Brown County has four Treatment Courts: Drug Court, Veterans Court, Heroin Court, and Mental Health Court. The target population for the Drug Court includes non-violent offenders who are Brown County residents convicted of the offense for which he/she was arrested and who have the following characteristics [Jail and Justice System Assessment]:

• History of non-violent felony convictions that were motivated by substance abuse/addiction/dependency;

• History of being on adult probation, parole, or extended supervision; 

• History of serving time in jail and/or prison;

• AODA assessment determines a need for treatment; and

• Willingness to address issues of abuse/dependency/addiction.
